Board Development

Tuesday, June 17, 9-12 noon
This session will teach you how to assess a board's strengths and weaknesses, identify gaps, and detemine the right types of members to recruit. It will also explore effective strategies for screening, selecting, recruiting, and integrating new members, and for maintaining and retaining member interest, participation, and commitment. This workshop will be a short-shot, fast-paced, and intensive session. The training will be appropriate for executive directors as well as new or veteran board members.

This workshop serves to improve listening skills, encourage use of problem solving techniques, outline how to provide effective feedback and how to to work with challenging people in the workplace. Excellent for supervisors, employers, human service professionals, office managers, receptionists and workplace teams.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management

This course will help volunteer managers assess their agencies and volunteer opportunities in terms of recruitment attractiveness, barriers to volunteering and appropriateness of training. Participants will discuss applications and screening successful volunteers
